An Adventure Begins!
This is the beginning of a co-venture between myself, Mark A. Lewis (North Okanagan-based), and Ross Tayler (Squamish-based). It's a project called “The Birth of the King” that will help align men (and eventually also women as “The Birth of the Queen”) with both a mentor and a supportive community made up of practitioners, elders and like-minded individuals as each member of the community cultivates a path of sovereignty as well as connection (integrity within as well being in alignment with the world).
It will be a co-operative with an emphasis on leadership (particularly within) as well as being of service to family, community and to our individual purpose.
As men and women get further along their paths they can begin to offer the teachings they have learned, including their unique offering or practice, to others). It is intentionally hierarchical but not where any individual will be emphasized in a way that leverages influence or power or profit. The hierarchy will be aligned with life experience and proximity to Spirit (so to speak). The Elder council will make the final decision on all things structural, financial or otherwise, if they see fit. Ross and I (and eventually others) will be administrators as well as guides for individuals both interested and willing to uncover their paths with our help and support. Various practitioners from our online community, as well from the community of the individual, will be called on along the way. Ceremony and ritual will be introduced to individuals based on their needs and orientation.
The initial stage of this project will be to create a coherent map and database to help connect people with a mentor, an elder(s) as well as relevant practitioners and (potentially) ceremonies to help them do their “work” and uncover a deeper connection to who they are.
The vision is to create a network of people that can support each other as they walk their individual paths. Eventually, as communities grow, there will be territories, where the principle practitioners, mentors, guides and elders will be local to the individuals who are called to this path. The web-based council will govern over-arching strategy, growth and scholarship initiatives.
We're at the early stages and so are holding virtual gatherings where we will be having discussions and stepping into work around the key themes (as an exploration and starting point for the project). We will also hold specific gatherings to discuss the vision of this project, how it can evolve and how one can join the community, both the web-based community and the community in your area.
More will come over the next year in terms of a website outlining the structure and concepts as well as actual retreats in the North Okanagan to meet and support in this way.
If you have questions or would like to be involved please send us an email and introduce yourself at: email@example.com
We are open to feedback, particularly at this time.

A Mentor Appears
One of the essential aspects of a man's journey involves the appearance of a mentor or guide. Traditionally, in many tribal cultures, mentors were assigned by elders or discovered through ritual. Often they appear when the "student" is ready. In the Western world we think of Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars or Morpheus in the Matrix.
Both Mark and Ross are available to mentor Men on their journeys, or to help a man find his mentor. There are many out there. You cannot do this work alone!
One of our many goals as we grow this offering is that no man gets turned away due to financial restraints. One of the ways that you can support this project and the men engaged in this work is by donating. We are currently offering scholarships to men attending our virtual circles and it is our intention to offer scholarships for our one on one mentorship programs.
If you have questions related to donations please contact us and we will be happy to connect.
